British "Ship Letter" postmarks  on mail originating from Brazil. 1827-55, a comprehensive collection containing 47 covers, with the majority being mounted and highly detailed written-up on exhibition pages, showing 31 different types of handstamps from Portsmouth, Liverpool, Bristol, Cork, Cove, Weymouth, Brighton, Folkstone, Dover, Swansea, Jersey, Ryde, London, Guernsey, Greenock, Plymouth, Romney, Falmouth, Lymington, Cowes, Brixham, Kingsbridge, Swanage and Darmouth, with rare types such as "Ship Letter Guernsey" (S. 3) or "Ship Letter Cowes" (S. 4) which is not recorded in red by Robertson, infrequent combinations with forwarding agents markings and a wide range of rates applied.
