1889 (7 Sept.) long envelope registered to San Francisco bearing, on the reverse, Small Dragon perf. 12½ 1ca. and 5ca. block of nine (has been split in half when the envelope was opened ) cancelled/tied by fine strikes of Newchwang seal with Newchwang and Shanghai Customs c.d.s. alongside; the address side with Japan Koban 10s. (2) and 20s. tied by octagonal "registered/Shanghai" date stamp and with Yokohama transit (19.9). Crossed with blue and orange crayon lines; vertical crease at left which runs through the block of 5ca. A remarkable and interesting cover.




1889年牛莊寄美國掛號封1件，貼小龍1分1枚，及5分九方連1件（因貼於封口處，信件開拆時局部有撕裂，不影響參展），日本票10錢2枚，20錢1枚，小龍銷牛莊中文戳，另銷牛莊9月7日海關日戳，經上海中轉，有上海9月12日海關戳，日本票銷上海日本客郵局14日紫色八角形掛號郵件專用日戳，及紫色R戳，再經日本橫濱中轉，有橫濱19日英文掛號專用中轉戳，到美國舊金山有10月5日掛號到達戳，保存完好，上海日本客郵局八角形掛號專用日戳出現於小龍封極罕見
