1939 (16 Sept.) commercial air mail envelope to New York "Via 'Clipper' from Hongkong and U.S. Air Service" bearing $2.90 franking tied by Shanghai c.d.s. with the Par Avion etiquette and registration label at side (some glue staining), the reverse with Honolulu (12.10) and New York (16.10) datestamps - carried by Honolulu Clipper as the previous service has been cancelled. Pays 50c. surface, $1.90 air to U.S. and 50c. registration. Rate 1.4.2.2. Also 1937 (21 June) air mail envelope to Portland bearing a good strike of "Via Hongkong & by U.S. Air Service" struck in mauve and bearing $1.45 franking tied by Shanghai c.d.s., paying the earlier 1.4.2.1. rate.
