China: Yuan/Ming Dynasty, Da Zhong Tong Bao, (1368-1644), group of 15 coins consisting of: 1 cash (13), 2 of which have the Chinese character 'Zhe' on reverse, 2 cash, 28.4x1.8mm, 4.5g and 5 cash, 40x2.3mm, 14.0g, the 1 cash coins very fine to extremely fine, the 2 cash Zhong Qian Geneuine and the 5 cash Zhong Qian 80. Da Zhong Tong Bao coins were issued by Zhu Yuan Zhang from 1361 when he was King of Wu based in Ying Tian Prefecture (modern day Nanjing). The series is separated into two issues: before and after he became emperor. The later series (struck from 1371) shows the mint name on reverse (e.g. the coins with 'Zhe' in this lot) and also the denomination on 2 cash or higher. Dr. Werner Burger Collection. 元/明朝大中通寶一組15枚，包括13枚一文，背浙，二文及五文，一文VF至EF，二文中乾評真品，五文評中乾80，大中通寶由朱元璋於 1361 年在應天府（今南京）為吳王時發行，共分為兩類，以其登基作分界線，登基後之錢幣（從 1371 年開始鑄造）在背面鑄有造幣廠名（如這批背浙），以及有三文或更高之面值
