China: Yuan Dynasty, Tian Ding Tong Bao, (1271-1368), 1 cash, 23.2x1.5mm, 3.9g, graded Zhong Qian Genuine. Issued by rebel Xu Shou Hui (1320-1360) in the last years of the Yuan Dynasty. Xu, one of the leaders the Red Turbans, rebelled against the Yuan Dynasty in 1351 and declared himself emperor with the state name of 'Song'. The Tian Ding era (1359-60) was the last of his four era names. Xu at one time commanded an army exceeding one million and his legacy was instrumental to Zhu Yuanzhang's success in establishing the Ming Dynasty in 1368. Xu was ambushed and killed by Chen Youlang at Caishi in 1360. Dr. Werner Burger Collection. [165]


元朝天定通寶小平，23.2x1.5mm，重3.9克，中乾評真品，天定元寶由元朝末年起義者徐壽徽（1320-1360）鑄造，1351年，紅巾軍首領之一的徐起義反元，其後稱帝，起國號“宋”。天定年號（1359-60）是他四個年號中的最後一個。徐曾統領超過百萬的軍隊，他的軍力對朱元璋於 1368 年成功建立明朝起了關鍵作用。徐於 1360 年在採石被陳友諒伏擊身亡。
