China: Southern Song Dynasty, Jia Ding Yuan Bao, 10 cash, (1127-1279), reverse; 'Zhe Shi', 53.2x2.8mm, weighs 37.7g, Zhong Qian 80. Cast in the first year of the Jia Ding era (1208) in the reign of Ningzong (r.1194-1224). A breath taking large sized coin with superb calligraphy, which in the cataloguer's opinion is on par with Chong Ning Tong Bao and Da Guan Tong Bao. Rare in this superb condition.
