The People's Republic of China: Treasury Bond, lot of 2x uniface obverse progressive proof for 100 yuan, 1995, 1. the first, black and white die proof on watermarked paper, title and denomination in Chinese text, Shi Jiu Port (Shandong) at right. Black and white die proofs are made to assess the printing plate's finess of detail once the design is adpoted.

2. the second, die proof in purple, watermarked paper, design similar to the above. The plate colour stage is printed next to assess the design in different colours. The final colour adopted is green, not purple.
