Air Mail
1940 (23 May) air mail envelope to Belgium bearing, on the reverse, $5.76 franking tied by Shanghai c.d.s. and bearing Hong Kong censor seal and U.K. censor seal at sides and with boxed "no service/return to sender", there is also a strike of unframed "Réexpedié par voie ordinaire après/avoir été retourné à Shanghai", the air mail banner has been cancelled by parallel red bars three Chinese officially sealed labels tied by boxed "received broken and/officially resealed" in violet and finally a German censor seal applied both inside and outside of the envelope. The envelope has suffered from some water damage and this is thought to have been from a crash. An unusual cover with a lot of character. Photo
