(x) China, Qing Dynasty, a 'Kesi' silk Tiger Rank Badge for 4th rank military court, back badge, size 28.5x 30.5cm. During the Qing dynasty, the fourth-rank tiger rank badge was worn by officials such as Second-Class Imperial Bodyguards, Company Commanders, Superintendents of the Southern Hunting Park, Chief Palace Eunuchs, District Commanders, and Assistant Regional Commanders. This fine example is superbly preserved - the 'Wang' (King) character on the tiger’s forehead is well defined, and the tiger’s body is intricately worked with golden threads. The portrayal is both majestic and vividly executed, conveying great power and dignity
