1841 (13 Jan.) entire from Col. Edwards on board H.M.S. 'Rattlesnake' in Chusan to Ceylon, rated "£0-1-8", the reverse with boxed Calcutta Ship Letter datestamp (11.4). Clean and fine.

The letter includes some details of the situation there including, "... We have received account of the wreck of the 'Kite' and the capture of Captain Anstruther ... " followed by some details of his treatment; though this cross-written letter is a little difficult to read
