1899 (3 Apr.) New York to Foochow cover, bearing U.S.A. 5c., tied by New York machine cancellation, Because the mail was overweight, the mail was processed as due payment and with a US 10 cent due payment seal.. transit on San francisco (3.10) and Shanghai (4.16), Shanghai dollar dater (4.17), and Foochow dollar dater (4.22). This cover in China for postage due again, and stamped with Qing Post's Chinese and English postage due seal and "T" seal.
Because the recipient's address was incorrect, the cover was returned from Foochow and returned with handwriting in red, with Foochow dollar dater (5.5), and transit by Shanghai (5.17), New York , Washington (10.6) and Washington Hand shape return seal. Because the sender could not be found, the cover was eventually treated as a dead letter and deleted from the U.S. Dead Letter Office. with dead letter c.d.s. in red. The postal route is complex, clear and well-preserved.


1899年美國寄福州實寄封1件，貼美國5分郵票1枚，銷紐約3月4日機蓋戳，因郵件超重做欠資處理，蓋美國10美分欠資戳，另貼美國10分欠資票1枚，經三藩市，上海中轉，有三藩市3月10日中轉戳，上海美國客郵局4月16日戳，上海17日中英文大圓戳，及福州郵政局4月22日中英文大圓戳；郵件再中國令做欠資處理，蓋大清郵政中英文欠資戳及T戳，郵件因收信人位址有誤，在福州作退回處理，手寫紅色退回，銷福州郵政局5月5日中英文大圓戳，經上海，紐約，華盛頓中轉，有上海工部5月17日小圓戳，紐約機蓋戳，華盛頓10月6日戳，及華盛頓手型退回戳，郵件因找不到寄信人，最終作死信處理，銷美國死信辦公室10月6日戳，郵路複雜清晰，保存完好，此封銷不同郵戳11枚，銷福州大圓戳海外進口無著郵件罕見
