Sykes), extremely fine, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Leslie Gordon Sykes) (3) Estimate £ 180-220 Second Lieutenant Leslie Gordon Sykes, a native of Lindley, Yorkshire, son of Lieutenant-Colonel H.H. Sykes; served during the Great War in the Royal Field Artillery, in the French theatre of war, 1916-17; transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and was killed whilst flying DH6 B2835, 22.3.1918, whilst posted at 190 (Night) Training Squadron; he is buried in St. Stephen´s Church, Lindley.
