Sierra Leone Incoming Mail 1885 (15 Feb.) envelope from Nice to a doctor on "U.S. Flagship Lancaster" sent care of a U.S. Despatch Agent in London, bearing French Colonies General issues 1877-90 25c. ochre on pale yellow cancelled with Gare De Nice c.d.s. with a further strike alongside, upon arrival in London marked with U.S. Despatch Agent dated cachet (2.2) and with address deleted and replaced with "care of the united states consul." cachet in violet followed by manuscript "Sierra Leone" in red ink, the reverse with Paris (16.2) and London (17.2) c.d.s.; no markings of arrival and possibly carried by diplomatic bag to West Africa Estimate £ 180-200
