Sierra Leone 1882 (5 May) envelope to Kansas, U.S.A., "3" (3d. to G.P.O., London) and "1" (1d. of international rate to be retained by the colony) accountancy marks in red crayon and bearing 1876 2d. magenta and 3d. buff each cancelled "B31", showing superb "paid-at-sherbro" double-arc d.s. alongside Paid Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (26.5), both in red, the reverse with Sierra Leone c.d.s. (7.5) and New York Paid All duplex (5.6); the envelope with tear at right clear of the adhesives. A rare cover franked at the 4d. international rate plus 1d. internal rate from Sherbro Estimate £ 1,500-1,800 Note: All mail postmarked Sherbro was cancelled at Bonthe Post Office on Sherbro Island
