Gold Coast Cape Coast Castle 1884 (27 Mar.) envelope to Accra, "1" accountancy mark in red crayon and bearing 1876-84 6d. orange cut to one sixth as a 1d. neatly cancelled "556", showing "paid-at-cape-coast-castle" double-ring d.s. (Type F) and with arrival c.d.s. (Type 8) at left, a further strike of the Cape Coast d.s. on reverse. A remarkable franking for the 1d. rate which is believed to be unique. B.P.A.
