New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated 1860-1861 (J. Anthony, Qr. Mr. H.M.S. Pelorus.), a post 1873 issue, suspension claw tightened, nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 240-280 Approximately 116 New Zealand medals were awarded to H.M.S. Pelorus, of which 48 are recorded as known in Naval Medals 1793-1856, K. Douglas-Morris; Anthony´´s medal makes it 49. Of this number 2 are recorded with undated reverses. John Anthony, born Stonehouse, Devon, 1822; joined the Royal Navy, 1838; service including in H.M.S.´´s North Star, Queen, Impregnable and Pelorus, the latter being 25.7.1857-10.12.1862. John Anthony´´s medal was issued 17.12.1874.
