Calliope), collector´s number stamped on edge at 11 o´clock, minor official correction to letter ´S´, nearly extremely fine, scarce Estimate £ 650-750 Approximately 69 New Zealand medals dated 1846-47 were awarded, all of which were issued to H.M.S. Calliope, 33 of which are recorded as known in Naval Medals 1793-1856, K. Douglas-Morris. John Ferrero, born Devonport, Devon, 1812; joined the Royal Navy, 1830; service including in H.M.S.´´s Talavera, Endymion, Impregnable and Calliope, service in the latter 2.7.1845-9.1.1849.
