R.W.Fusrs.), Regimental number privately engraved before name, minor edge bruise, very fine Estimate £ 220-260 5474 Private John Smith, born Gloucester, 1838; enlisted with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and served in India for five years and eight months throughout the Indian Mutiny, and present at the Relief of Lucknow as part of Sir Colin Campbell´´s force, November 1857; re-engaged as 1518 Private, October 1866; discharged July 1869 after 12 years and 326 days with the Colours.
