x Indian Stamps used in the Straits Settlements 1855-65 Typographed Issues Malacca Inter-Settlement Mail 1861 (2 Apr.) entire letter (paper a little brittle with age) to Singapore, bearing 1a. brown clearly tied by fine "B/109" obliterator and showing, on reverse across flap and seal, a fine strike of the very rare framed "malacca/ship letter/paid" datestamp in red. Extremely rare, only two covers recorded with this datestamp and one of only five covers recorded from Malacca bearing Indian adhesives. Photo Estimate £ 15,000-20,000
