Blood I.A.O.C.´, good very fine or better (7) Estimate £ 180-220 Lieutenant-Colonel John Neptune Blood, born April 1897; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Royal Artillery, 27.10.1915; served during the Great War in Salonika, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and the Aegean Islands, 31.3.1916-6.6.1918; Lieutenant, 1.7.1917; Captain, 27.10.1919; arrived in India, 29.11.1919; transferred Indian Army Ordnance Corps, 30.7.1924; Appointed Master-General of the Ordnance Branch, Provision Section; Lieut-Colonel, Indian Army Regular Reserve of Officers, 11.8.1941; retired 1944; died 7.11.1960. John Neptune Blood was a descendant of the infamous "Colonel" Blood who attempted to steal the Crown Jewels during the reign of King Charles I; he was named after the Very Rev. Neptune Blood, D.D.
