Pendright served with the 2nd Dragoons during the Great War on the Western Front from 17.8.1914. ES2456 Engineman David Ross McLeod served in H.M. Trawler Briton during the Great War; died 21.7.1915, and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. 192 Private P. Henderson served with the 3rd Scottish Horse during the Great War; died 7.11.1915, and is buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Turkey.
