Griffiths-Buchanan, Devon Regiment 1939-1945 Star; Africa Star; Defence and War Medals, extremely fine, in named card box of issue, together with the following related documents &c.: - Army Council enclosure - The recipient´s Soldier´s Service and Pay Book - Two diaries, for 1936 and 1937 - Portrait photograph of the recipient. Three: Sergeant A.N. Griffiths-Buchanan, Royal Air Force 1939-1945 Star; Defence and War Medals, extremely fine, in named card box of issue, with the following related documents &c.: - Named Air Council condolence slip - Portrait photograph of the recipient, and a photograph of the recipient´s grave (7) Estimate £ 60-80 Captain Charles Keith Griffiths-Buchanan, enlisted in the Devon Regiment, 31.8.1939; served with the Regiment in France, 16.9.1939-2.6.1940; in Africa, 12.12.1942-27.9.1943; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Devon Regiment, 6.5.1944; Lieutenant, 6.11.1944. Sergeant Alexander Neill Griffiths-Buchanan, served during the Great war with 78 Squadron (Halifaxes), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve; killed in action, 9.10.1943, when his plane crashed at Strohen, 5 miles east of Wagenfeld, killing 6 of the 7 crew, with the seventh made Prisoner of War; initially buried at Strohen, in 1945 his remains were exhumed and brought to Hannover War Cemetery, Germany.
