Carleton Thomas Monckton (1797-1830), 5th son of Robert Monckton Arundell, 4th Viscount Galway (nephew of Brigadier-General Hon. Robert Monckton, Second in Command to Wolfe at Quebec); commissioned Cornet 16th Light Dragoons, 1812; served with the regiment during the Waterloo Campaign; Captain Cape Corps, 1823; exchanged to the 24th Foot, 1824; died at Quebec, where he is buried.
