x Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, Gluckstadt 5 Jany 1814 (Benjn. Raybould.), slight traces of brooch mounting to obverse, suspension claw re-affixed, letter ´J´ corrected, very fine Estimate £ 600-800 Benjamin Raybould served as Private Royal Marines, in H.M.S. Hearty, when a Squadron of British ships under the command of Captain A. Farquhar assisted a division of the army under the Crown Prince of Sweden at the capture of the fortress of Gluckstadt, near the mouth of the Elbe, 5.1.1814. Approximately 42 clasps claimed for this action. Benjamin Raybould, born in St. Martins in the Fields, London; enlisted in the Royal Marines, 23.3.1809, and was allotted to No. 31 Company.
