Mauritius 1859 (Oct.) Sherwin Printing 1859 (6 Dec.) entire from Port Louis to Plaine Wilhelms, bearing superb 2d. deep blue on bluish paper, [4], with very large margins and neatly cancelled with void oval of bars, showing a superb strike of the "advertised/unclaimed" h.s. and, on reverse, Crowned "mauritius/g.p.o." d.s. alongside manuscript "Unclaimed 26-3-60"; small portion of address panel excised. The sole example of the "adverted/unclaimed" h.s. and an exceptionally rare stamp on cover, particularly used internally. B.P.A. (1964) and Brandon (2007) Certificates.
