Great Britain Postal History Soldiers Letters 1798-1812, selection of six entires from Scotland, including 1798 (Aug.) from Belladrum to Corporal A. Mc Pherson of the Fraser Fencibles at Drunmore, Ireland, with red Edinburgh Bishop mark on the face; 1800 (May), entire from Sargent J. Mc Fadyen of the Marines at Kirkaldy, to London , endorsed "single sheet only" and countersigned by the Commanding Officer; 1805 entire from Edinburgh addressed to Cullen, endorsed on the front "W Grant Col/10th. Militia", rated "Pd 1" and with red "POST PAID" in scroll; 1805 (Dec.), entire from the wife of Private Daniel Forbes at Perth, endorsed "A soldiers letter", the letter examined and, not being in accordance with the act, charged at the full civilian rate of 1/9; 1812 (July), entire from Stirling to London, countersigned by the Commanding Officer, etc., good to fine.
