Great Britain Postal History 1861 (16 Sept.) entire letter (filing crease) to London, bearing pair of 1d. Stars tied by Southampton duplex, the flap bears a good strike of handstruck "Received open and resealed/at the E. district Office" in black, scarce; 1876 (1 May) blue envelope used locally in London bearing 1d. Plate 189 tied by London E.C. duplex and with manuscript "Over" at left, the reverse with various annotations with regard to attempted delivery including "Opened by but not for Mr Ellis 49 Fenchurch St." and showing a good strike of "received open and resealed/e.c.d.o." partly overstruck by the c.d.s.; with two Post Office wax seals, unusual and scarce Estimate £ 100-120
