Malaya Penang 1844 (2 Jan.) entire letter "From Gr. E Dunn No 430D Compy 1 Battn Arty." at Penang to Ireland, countersigned by the Commanding Officer "In the Straits" and showing a partial strike of the "soldiers & seamen´s letter/4/by ship" circular h.s. (In. Sol. 7), the reverse with a good strike of the rare "penang/free" oval d.s., a very faint similar type for Singapore, London (7.7) and Dublin (9.7). A clean and very rare soldier´s cover.
