Iran The Persian Field Force, 1856-57 1857 (20 Mar.) entire "From Corpl. Geo. Brown Gl No. 1313 1/2 Arty" at Bushire to London, countersigned by the Commanding Officer and showing oval-framed "india" h.s. overstruck by "2" charge h.s., the reverse with a largely fine strike of the "field force/bg/persia" c.d.s. in red, Bombay (12.4) and London (23.5) c.d.s. The only known British soldiers cover from the Persian Field Force. Photo Estimate £ 2,000-2,500 Note: 1st. Company 2nd. Battalion Bombay Foot Artillery formed part of the 2nd. Division Persian Field Force. The unit was about to depart from Bushire with the Muhammerah Expeditionary Force.
