India 1895 (18 July) Soldier´s and Seamen´s 9p. envelope from Sergeant Nield of the 2nd. Lancashire Fusiliers at Colaba to England, countersigned by the Commanding Officer and cancelled by squared-circle d.s., the rate having increased to 1a., charged "17 1/2 cents" in blue crayon (equal to 1 3/4d.) and showing circular-framed "T" h.s. alongside "i.b./3 1/2d" h.s. and Gosport arrival c.d.s. (5.8) Estimate £ 100-120 Note: The basic value of the soldier´´s privilege postage rate to England was raised from 9p. to 1a. in June 1895. The special 9p. Soldier´´s and Seamen´´s envelope was withdrawn and re-issued surcharged "ONE ANNA"
