India The Indian Mutiny, 1857-59 1858 (mid Nov.) envelope "From Pipe Major Stewart 79th. Highlanders" at Army Headquarters to Scotland, countersigned by the Commanding Officer and bearing 1a. brown (minor defects) cancelled with the scarce "hq" in barred diamond of bars, showing London Paid c.d.s. (24.12) at top and , on reverse, circular undated "army hd qrs/p.o", Bombay and Edinburgh (25.12) c.d.s. Rare. R.P.S. Certificate (2000). Photo Estimate £ 800-1,000 Note: H.M. 79th. Highlanders took part in Lord Clyde´´s winter campaign in Oudh. A special Army Headquarters Post Office accompanied Lord Clyde.
