Cape of Good Hope 1851 (10 Oct.) entire letter and 1853 (10 Oct.) envelope both ex the same correspondence from Aberdeen to Bombadier A. Moore, 3rd. Company, 7th. Battalion Royal Artillery at Cape Town and sent at the privilege rate of 1d., the first, marked "Per Steamer", prepaid 1d. and additionally charged 1d. on arrival, the second prepaid with 1841 1d. and an attempt made to additionally charge 1d. on arrival, the letter crossing with the return of the regiment to England and upon arrival redirected to Woolwich where the regiment mustered on it´s return, the additional 1d. charge being deleted and with no forwarding charge made.
