Cape of Good Hope 1840 (20 Mar.) entire letter "From Andrew Wilson, Private Royal Sappers & Miners" at Grahams Town to Niagara, Upper Canada, countersigned by the Commanding Officer, marked "Paid 1d" and showing fair boxed "paid/1d" h.s. and Portsmouth oval d.s. (7.6), both in red; a few perimeter faults though a scarce early soldier´s letter from the Cape detailing life in Grahams Town and with reference to a Capt.
