Regt." at Kandy "via Southampton" to England, rated "1" in manuscript and with London Paid d.s. (20.7) at right, the reverse with "kandy/post paid" c.d.s. Photo Estimate £ 700-800 Note: The letter is from a clergyman who has fallen into "reduced circumstances" and has been written as a musician in the Regimental Band under the assumed name of Private Mc.Auliffe. The letter is full of ecclesiastical matters and with reference to a letter he wrote to the Bishop about the theft of his watch by customs at Colombo
