Medals (2) and plaquettes (2) relating to the Mond family, Sir Robert Mond (son of Ludwig Mond, 1867-1938, knighted 1932), cast bronze celebratory medal after 1932, 118mm, by Naoum Aronson, signed, extremely fine; bronze plaquettes (2), Robert Mond, 68mm. x 89mm., by Emile Armel-Beaufils, signed, small stain in field, extremely fine; another, the same, in card box, extremely fine; Mrs. Ludwig Mond, bronze memorial medal, 1909, unsigned, 44mm., cast in two pieces and joined, reverse inscribed in memoriam, in a presentation case traces of ?plaster from mounting on reverse, extremely fine (4) Estimate £ 350-450 Sir Robert Mond, industrialist, archaeologist and benefactor was the elder son of Ludwig Mond. Russian born, Naoum Aronson (1872-1943) is mainly known for his work as a sculptor. Settled in Paris and studied at the Ecole des Arts Decoratif falling under the influence of Rodin and later renowned for his ability to interpret ´´the Russian soul.´´ Emile Armel-Beaufils (1882-1952), Breton Sculptor, born in Rennes is noted for his French memorial sculptures.
