Eustache Le Sueur, c.1650, cast bronze medal, draped bust right, rev. allegorical figure of Painting, assisted by a winged cherub, at work in an artist´s studio, 62mm. (T.N.I, 55, plate LXV, 5), very fine Estimate £ 120-150 Eustache Le Seur (1617-55), Royal Portrait Painter to Louis XIV. Although unsigned, this medal may well be the work of François Cheron, with whose style it has some parallels.
