Abyssinia 1867-68 (Lieut S.C. Darwin H.M.S. Satellite), very fine Estimate £ 350-400 Captain Sacheveral Charles Darwin, entered the Royal Navy as Naval Cadet, 1858; Sub Lieutenant 1864; served in H.M.S. Satellite against pirates on the East Coast of the Malay Peninsular, and in the Nicobar expedition, 1867; superintended the water supply from the condensing ships in Annesley Bay during the Abyssinian War; during the 1870´´s he served in H.M.S. Agincourt and H.M.S. Minotaur (flag-ship of the Channel squadron); Commander 1877; Captain 1885; retired 1892.
