Naval General Service 1793-1840, two clasps, Basque Roads 1809, Navarino (William Silley, Carpenter.), good very fine Estimate £ 1,400-1,600 William Silley is not listed on the Message roll, however he does appear on the Douglas-Morris roll, where he is noted as ´´William Silly´´ and as serving as Carpenter in H.M.S. Lyra for the destruction of a number of French ships in the Basque Roads, off St. Nazaire, 11-12.4.1809, and as the same position in H.M.S. Genoa for the battle of Navarino, 20.10.1827.
