Mne. R.M.), suspension crudely repaired, with official corrections; General Service 1962-2007, one clasp, Radfan (Ply/X.5048 S.J. Drew. Mne. R.M.); Naval Long Service & G.C., E.II.R., ´Dei: Gratia´ (Ply/X.5048 Mne. S.J. Drew. R.M.), very fine or better (3) Estimate £ 280-320 40 and 45 Commando, Royal Marines were heavily engaged in suppressing acts of terrorism during the emergency in Cyprus, 1.4.1955-18.4.1959. 40,42 and 45 Commando, Royal Marines suffered heavily in the Middle East, 31.10.-22.12.1956, losing 2 officers and 8 men killed, with 3 officers and 45 men wounded. During the latter conflict 45 Commando were involved in the first ever heliborne assault.
