R.E.), extremely fine all in individual original named card boxes of issue, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque, ´Frank Harold Day´, in original card box, recipient´s Cap Badge and identity disk (lot) Estimate £ 150-200 18478 Sapper Frank Harold Day, born Finsbury, London, 1888; served during the Great War with the 5th Field Company Royal Engineers on the Western Front from 8.8.1914; he was killed in action 17.5.1916, the Company War Diary for the latter date gives, ´´Repairs to the Arras Road continued, revetting and fore stepping Kellett Road between Bosch Walk and Ash Road continued. Deepening and widening front line, Right Battalions continued.... No. 18478 Sap F Day killed by rifle bullet´´; Day is buried in Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France.
