Drury 10/ (Sco:) L´ Pool: R.); Imperial Service Medal, G.V.R., ´coinage head´ (Henry George Drury.), nearly extremely fine (5) Estimate £ 150-200 2265 Sergeant Henry George Drury, joined 8th Volunteer Battalion Liverpool Regiment, 1902, before service with the West Lancashire Field Artillery, 1902-1910; with the outbreak of the Great War he returned for service with his old battalion (now designated the 10th), and sailed to France with the first draft on SS Maidan, in November 1914; Drury was posted to "C" Company, 19.4.1915, and it was with them that he survived the first major action that the 10th Battalion were involved in just north of Hooge, 16.6.1915, when the battalion suffered casualties of 20 officers and 400 other ranks.
