Moderno (late 15th century) Adoration of the Magi, rectangular bronze plaquette, 89mm. x 63mm., an old cast with light brown patina, pierced at top and in bottom left corner, areas of solder and some markings on reverse The Virgin, seated before the stable, presents the Child who sits on her right knee, his right hand raised in benediction. Behind her stand St Joseph and a child (St John?). One of the Magi kneels. The other two stand behind him, and behind them their retinue stretches diagonally across the rocky landscape. The plaquette occurs with various forms of border.
