Matteo de´ Pasti (active 1441-1467) Isotta degli Atti, bronze medal, 83.5mm., an old cast, brown patina, pierced at 12 o´clock Obverse: bust of Isotta in profile to right, her hair over a high frame, held by a crossed band fastened at the front with a jewel, and falling in two long tresses behind, wearing a plain dress, ·D· ISOTTAE· ·ARIMINENSI· Reverse: The Malatesta elephant walking to right in a flowery meadow, date M·CCCC·XLVI below Isotta degli Atti da Rimini (1432/3-1474), was mistress (1446) and then wife (1456) of Sigismondo. Though this medal is dated 1446, it is certainly later, since Isotta was not publicly honoured until after the death of Sigismondo´s second wife in 1449. The medal was clearly very popular as many examples have survived.
