International Printed Paper Rate 1897 (13 May) envelope to Hamburg bearing 1/2c. on 3ca. orange-yellow strip of four (one stamp showing 3.5mm spacing) tied by "customs/foochow" c.d.s. with Hong Kong 2c. carmine (torn) tied by Hong Kong (16.5) c.d.s., no markings on reverse; part of the address has been partly covered by blue crayon (largely removed) and tone spotting (mostly on reverse; an unusual and desirable franking.
