Great Britain Line-Engraved Issues Fraudulent or Unusual Usages of Line-Engraved Issues 1848 (3 Jan.) entire letter from Islay to Beith, bearing a soiled and defective 1841 1d. which obviously shows signs of previous use, it was not accepted for postage and showing a black handstruck "2" with red ink manuscript "Old Stamp" alongside; some cover faults though otherwise fine and most appealing. Very few of these covers are known as they were usually destroyed by the Post Office or the police after a trial. Photo Estimate £ 800-900
