France 1849-52 First Issue 1851 (23 June) cover from Montpellier to New Orleans "Par Steamer Vià Liverpool" bearing 40c. orange vertical pair, 25c. blue (2) and 10c. bistre vertical pair all tied by grille, Montpellier despatch c.d.s. at right and "br. packet/boston" transit (9/7), charged 5 cents for local delivery. The 25c. adhesives in differing shades and some adhesives with touched margins but a fresh and fine appealing first issue three colour franking. Ceres 1, 5, 6.
