France 1849-52 First Issue 40c. bright orange, a fine horizontal pair on 1853 (15 Jan.) entire letter to London, small to large margins and tied by "601" petits chiffres with Cannes despatch c.d.s. at left, with boxed "PD" and London (19/8) arrival, Paris transit on reverse; one adhesive defective from over-hanging the edge of the cover, attractive.
