Hiberno-Norse, Phase II, c.1015-1035, Penny (2), Group A, 3/c, in name of Sihtric, bust left, imitating Long Cross issue of Aethelred II, pellet in front of face, cross pommée behind, dhtrc re+ ifnl, rev. voided long cross extending from central pellet, pellet in each angle, blundered legend (SCBI Ulster 92; SCBI British Museum 72; S.6125; same dies as SCBI Copenhagen 79-80); another, similar, 0.99g, [..]htrc rex+, with furcula wishbone on neck and cross pattée behind, rev. similar, fierin[..]dim (cf. SCBI Ulster 96; S.6125), the first, segment missing, obverse fine, reverse very fine with weakness from use of a rusty die; the second, pieces missing at lower edge and small chip at one o´clock, otherwise very fine (2) Estimate £ 250-350
