Somaliland 1901-04, The Somaliland Campaigns Four expeditions had to be instituted against the "Mad Mullah" and his followers who were spreading death and destruction against the peaceful Somali. Indian stamps were used on correspondence Fourth Expedition, July 1903 - June 1904 1903 (2 Aug.) 1a. on 2a.6p. stationery envelope to Surrey, marked "From Sap J.J. Burfoot R.E., Barraro, Somaliland", cancelled by clear "f.p.o. no 47" c.d.s. and showing, on reverse, "base office/berbera" (5.8), Aden (6.8) and arrival (17.8) datestamps; the envelope slightly soiled.
