Somaliland 1901-04, The Somaliland Campaigns Four expeditions had to be instituted against the "Mad Mullah" and his followers who were spreading death and destruction against the peaceful Somali. Indian stamps were used on correspondence Third Expedition, October 1902 - June 1903 1903 (29 June) unstamped envelope to Bath, marked "Somaliland Field Force, No stamps available", showing unframed "T" with London "1d/f.b." h.s. alongside and, on reverse, single-ring "f.p.o. no 44", "base office/berbera" (3.7) and arrival (16.7) datestamps; the envelope with some light overall staining.
